Get ready for winter and the holidays

2 December 2022|Lifestyle

To stay in top shape for the upcoming holidays, it's important to keep your immune system strong. So, as we approach the end of the year, we'd like to share these tips and tricks with you.

1. Eat like an athlete

Are you already eating fruits, vegetables, and whole (ancient) grains every day? Great job! But did you know there are specific nutrients that can boost your immune system? Make sure to consume plenty of vitamin C-rich foods, such as bell peppers, oranges, and kiwis. Spinach and broccoli are loaded with zinc, which fights off colds, and sweet potatoes combat various infections on their own.

    2. Move (preferably outdoors

Being outside exposes you to vitamin D, so if your feet aren't freezing off, consider exercising outdoors. Regular physical activity also has a positive impact on your gut flora, sleep quality, and stress levels.

      3. Don't overdo the sugar

Indulging in a bit more sugar around the holidays is totally fine and well-deserved. Just don't overdo it, as excessive sugar intake can temporarily lower your immune system.

      Green Juice at its best

Our green juice makes it a lot easier to get that daily recommended dose of vitamins in. There’s more than 20 different types of veggies and fruits in our Green Juice.

      4. Make sure you get good sleep

During seasonal transitions, it's extra important to pay attention to your sleep because that's when you might naturally struggle a bit more. Sleep regulates stress hormones, but it also allows your immune system to rest and recover.

        5. Take your supplements

Getting all your vitamins and minerals from food can be a challenge. That's why it's essential to incorporate the right supplements into your routine. Orangefit Vitamin C, Vitamin D3, Vitamin B12, and magnesium should not be missing from your medicine cabinet. This vitamin package covers the whole family.

          6. Don't forget about your gut health

In case you didn't know: about 70% of your immune system resides in your gut microbiome, and fibers nourish good bacteria. If those good bacteria aren't fed, they can't do their job, and they're really good at it—they regulate our immune response. Eat plenty of fibers and citrus fruits this season; they are true immune system boosters.

          In summary

As we enter the season of snowballs and runny noses, it's crucial to make your immune system super strong. Take care of it every day, but also enjoy these magical months.
